for some reason FHD really laggy for me. cant watch it.

But normal Blu-Rays or illigal downloaded 1080p movies are perfect fine

Actually it's 512 Ram. One is for the system and one is for video. Plus the PS3 can playback in full HD. And I don't know for sure but I think that if it can play a Blu-ray file, which is about 30gb, then it can play a 500mb file.
